17 August 2024 • 4 mins read

On 17th August 2024, the Civilians Association (Singapore), in collaboration with Singapore Silent Heroes and Safe Place, organized a heartwarming event titled "Our Family Time at Mandai River Wonders." The initiative aimed to foster family bonds and provide volunteers with deeper insights into the challenges faced by families in need.
The day began at the ACE (Admiralty Community Experience) hub, where participants were introduced to the guiding pillars of CAS. This included a briefing session that highlighted the association’s mission to strengthen community ties and empower families through targeted support. Attendees enjoyed a convivial lunch before heading to Mandai River Wonders, one of Singapore’s iconic attractions.
CAS generously sponsored tickets for the families, offering them a chance to experience a unique outing they might not have otherwise had access to. At the park, families explored captivating exhibits, fostering joy and connection amidst nature’s wonders.
Volunteers played a supportive role, engaging with the families through babysitting and encouragement, while gaining valuable perspective on the daily struggles these families endure.
The event concluded with participants expressing gratitude and volunteers reflecting on their newfound appreciation for family resilience. It reinforced CAS’s vision of creating a compassionate society where every family feels supported. Through simple yet meaningful gestures, the initiative not only brightened the day for 35 attendees but also strengthened the sense of community among everyone involved.
This memorable day at Mandai River Wonders exemplified CAS's dedication to enhancing family well-being and creating inclusive opportunities for all, one small yet impactful step at a time.
