Civilians Association (Singapore) - CAS believes in nurturing a balanced and healthy community, and the CAS W Futsal Challenge 2025 was a testament to this vision. Held on 27 April 2025 at Home Team NS Bukit Batok, the event provided a vibrant platform for young ladies to engage in fitness, teamwork, and friendly competition, reinforcing CAS’ commitment to promoting active lifestyles among youth.

The morning began with registration, where players submitted indemnity forms and team captains finalized team details. Twelve teams, each consisting of five players and two reserves, were divided across two futsal courts for a round-robin format. Each team played five games, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semifinals. The competition culminated in a thrilling final match, celebrating both skill and sportsmanship.

Beyond the competitive spirit, the event highlighted CAS’ dedication to inclusivity and youth engagement. About 100 participants enjoyed the camaraderie, physical activity, and encouragement that a structured sporting event fosters. Volunteers from CAS ensured smooth operations, from coordinating matches to managing schedules, demonstrating how well-planned community initiatives can enhance participation and enjoyment.

The atmosphere was charged with energy and excitement, creating memorable moments for both players and volunteers. Many participants reflected on the significance of having an event dedicated to women in futsal, an opportunity previously limited. For CAS, the W Futsal Challenge also connected to its roots, echoing memories of its origins as a soccer club and the longstanding tradition of organizing sports events during Annual May Day celebrations.

“The positive energy and camaraderie on the courts remind us that sport is not just about competition. It’s about community, growth, and empowerment.”

Special thanks went to the organising committee, including Mr Suresh A, Mr Nathan, and Mr Suresh M, whose dedication and leadership were pivotal in making the event a success. The challenge not only strengthened physical fitness but also fostered team spirit, confidence, and a sense of belonging among participants, aligning seamlessly with CAS’ mission to cultivate healthy, empowered, and connected communities.
