7 September 2024 • 5 mins read

On 7th September 2024, the Civilians Association (Singapore) (CAS) and the Singapore Silent Heroes Movement hosted the 11th Singapore Silent Heroes Award Ceremony, a grand celebration held at the Tower Ballroom, Shangri-La Hotel. This prestigious event served as a platform to honor everyday Singaporeans and Permanent Residents whose extraordinary acts of kindness and service have profoundly impacted lives, often without seeking recognition.
The evening began with a warm registration period and transitioned into an inspiring program led by emcee William Xavier. Performances by the APSN Dancers and the WindWorkz Band captivated the audience and set an uplifting tone for the event.
Guest of Honour, Mr. Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Health, recognized and awarded exceptional individuals across various categories, including five category winners, 19 distinguished finalists, five outstanding APEX student recipients, and other key contributors such as sponsors and ambassadors.
The Singapore Silent Heroes initiative reflects CAS’s enduring commitment to nurturing a society grounded in compassion, unity, and selflessness.
By spotlighting the remarkable achievements of these silent champions, CAS underscores the transformative power of collective humanity and resilience in addressing societal challenges.
The event not only celebrated its honorees but also inspired attendees to reflect on the significance of community and service. CAS’s council members and volunteers expressed pride in the event’s success, emphasizing their resolve to enhance this meaningful initiative year after year.
This year’s ceremony reaffirmed the essence of the Singapore Silent Heroes movement—recognizing the profound impact of individuals whose quiet contributions build a stronger, more inclusive society. The evening was a resounding success, leaving attendees with a renewed sense of purpose and appreciation for the everyday heroes among us.
